My first yoga experience was while on a women’s white water rafting trip in Idaho. It included morning yoga each of the 4 days of the adventure. Once I returned home from that trip, I found a free introduction to yoga at the Yoga Center, taught by Angela Sullivan. From that trip back in 1998 to today, I have cultivated a yoga and meditation practice the fills my soul and feeds my spirit! I studied with Kim Orenstein and completed her 200-hour teacher training and advanced studies course. I have been fortunate to teach yoga since 2004 and continue to grow and learn from my own practice. I find that teaching yoga to others provides me with a tremendous learning opportunity as well.

In a world that is full of uncertainty, yoga allows me to be with that uncertainty without losing myself in it. Pema Chodron tells us that by being with what is without labeling it as right or wrong, just seeing what it is and acknowledging it, see it clearly without judgement and then let it go, we come back to the present moment. And this act of coming back to the present moment is a gift we can give ourselves from now until the moment of our death. The spiritual practice of yoga has provided me the tools to be present.

I invite and welcome class participants to come as they are. My style of yoga includes attention to the breath, connecting movement to the breath, and inviting stillness into that experience. Also, I think an infusion of humor is always a welcome component!

My other passions include cooking, trail-running and hiking, camping, and being married to my beautiful Tommy!

My mantras: Breathe in, Breath out, Repeat…
