BECCA WHISTLER

Becca HeadshotBecca Whistler’s love of movement started at a young age with modern dance. Early on in college, she started practicing yoga, finding that it fulfilled the same need for rhythmic movement while also giving her tools for dealing with stress and anxiety. She completed her first yoga teacher training in 2014 at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, California, and continued to study with Tim Miller and David Garrigues. She taught under the mentorship of Carol Rutherford at Studio 8/Ashtanga Yoga Reno and Midtown Community Yoga until late 2019. In that time, Becca also completed her 750-hour massage school training, where she came to realize she desired a gentler, more sustainable approach to yoga. She is now learning from Katie Louvat and Brea Johnson of Heart and Bones Yoga. She believes that anyone, regardless of age, experience, or physical ability can benefit from an accessible, anatomy-based approach. Yoga should feel like a warm hug and a kindness you gift to yourself each day, and she hopes you will leave her classes feeling the same way.
