ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In a body positive environment, and building on Ginger’s personal experience as a plus-sized yoga student and teacher, the Yoga For All © framework, and focusing on trauma informed teaching methodologies, these workshops will focus on offering students a place to learn and practice the skills needed to make poses safe, accessible and approachable. The goal of these workshops is to provide students the skills and knowledge to feel confident within and with their bodies and to give them the knowledge to feel confident using props or alternative modifications, whether doing yoga at home or going to studio classes. This class is designed with beginners in mind, especially those living in larger bodies or with physical limitations, but is a great foundation for students and teachers at all levels of experience.
Each workshop will be 2 hours long and will involve a guided practice that involves pranayama (breath work), asanas (physical poses) and meditation; however, these workshops will be slow paced with lots of engagement and discussion. We will spend time in each pose exploring alignment, body placement, anatomy, various modifications and the use of props to support your body and your practice.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
As a plus-sized yoga teacher, Ginger truly believes that yoga is for every-BODY and welcomes all people because of their diverse level of yoga experience, body type, age, race, disability, gender identify, race, sexual orientation or religion/belief system.
