Late Summer Long Practice

Katie Louvat’s Late Summer Long Practice includes two 2-hour sessions. You can treat yourself to a morning, afternoon, or a whole day of wise/functional movement, breath awareness, and meditation. The gently active morning practice includes an anatomy presentation and will help students connect to and move from a strong and stable center. The afternoon is restorative and will include long-held floor postures, myofascial release techniques, and focused breath-work.

Yin and Restorative:
Relaxing Afternoon Practice
Sunday, Aug. 25, 12:30 – 2:30 pm
This quiet afternoon practice will include long-held restorative postures, myofascial release (self massage) techniques, focused breath-work and meditation to balance the nervous system and support deep relaxation.

About the Instructor:

Katie Louvat, RYT500, YACEP has been teaching yoga for more than a decade. Her classes reflect her gentle nature, her fascination with anatomy and alignment, and her dedication to a path of mindfulness. Katie’s carefully sequenced classes fluctuate between movement, stillness, breath work and guided introspection. With warmth and attentiveness, Katie nurtures her students, bringing them to a deeper understanding of their bodies and an intimate, compassionate relationship with their inner selves. Her classes are appropriate for people of all ages, abilities, and bodies. Katie is grateful for the guidance and wisdom she’s received from all of her teachers. She is a graduate of Kimberlee Orenstein’s 200-HR and 300-HR Advanced Study Programs at Yoga Loka and a graduate of Judith Lasater’s “Relax and Renew” Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. She currently studies in the Iyengar tradition with Ada Lusardi and the teaching staff at The Yoga Room in Berkeley, California.
